Wonky Gig Baldness

2 Months…

July 6, 2008 · 2 Comments

I’ve got out of this habit, haven’t i?

I’ve lost track of what I’ve done over the time.  Here’s some:

  • Performed for the last time at Symphony Hall.  The buzz can’t be beaten.
  • Sold my most expensive possession, my cornet, to buy my very own Euphonium.  It is my child.
  • Taken my A-levels.  Went ok.  Not one for in-depth analysis.  What will be, will be.
  • Celebrated Lou’s 18.  Happy belated birthday Lou!
  • Spent a week in the Lake District, and had a really great time.  Got sunburnt, bitten by a dog, almost shot by a farmer, drunk once or twice, addicted to pork scratchings, and generally enjoyed the pleasurable side of D of E.  Anyone who has never been up to Burnmoor Tarn (or Bakewell Tart, as we re-named it) without a huge bag should go do it, such an amazing feeling.
  • Finalised the details for the prom.  Exited now!  For all those coming, it’s 7.30 - Midnight.  Head for the Fairfield entrance.  Bring some I.D.  And cross your fingers that you’re up for one of our 6th Form Awards!

What’ve I missed?  Dunno.

Oh, and please somebody cut Boris’ hair.  It’s painful to look at.

Welcome back! :)

Grr…

I woke up at 7.45, got myself dressed, and it was only as I was sorting out my Maths book did I realise that it was a Bank Holiday, and I was entitled to a lie-in.  How very annoying…

Pasta and Pepper Sauce?

April 29, 2008 · 2 Comments

Nice if you’re called Andy. More on that story later.

Hello! As my bemz Lou reminded me this week, “You haven’t blogged in bare time, ennit”, or words to this effect. So what’s going down this week?

Well, first off, I’ve developed an addiction to housing programmes. Grand Designs is the obvious favourite, but Escape To The Country is a close second. I cannot work out why, but I’ve spent all week considering which walls are load-bearing, thus could not be knocked down to create an open-plan kitchen diner, and such other rubbish questions.

Friday night saw a coolkidz trip to the Oak Tree, to sample the new slightly amended menu. It was fun, and involved Josie getting her first ever IDing, everyone but me being disgusted at Andy for eating pasta with pepper sauce, and a crazy plot derived by Lou to get an ice-cream. I paid, she ate. Fair? Err, no. We went back to Lucy’s to play Trivial Persuit, en route Lou got called “Meals on Wheels”. Lols.

And then it was back into the grind of school, where exams are racing up on me faster than DominicSelf.co.uk towards Ken Livingstone if he wins this week. It’s scary, man. 16! In 2 months time, they’ll all be over, though. Which is re-assuring.

Did that need a hyphen? Probs not.

Is that how you spell hyphen? :?

What else is going down? Erm, we went to Ikea on Friday to choose me a new matress, to replace the plankI currently sleep on. I’m upgrading my phone to contract, as I’m fed up of Orange PAYG ripping me off. Oh, and I’m addicted to Bubble Shooter. Damn you Lucy.

Promise to update more often in future =]

Concentrate…

Whilst writing my French coursework, I managed to type:

“Maintenant, les Francais celebrent les dauphins tous les temps”

Which, of course, means:

“Nowerdays, the French celebreate dolphins all the time.”

It was supposed to be diversity.  Oh well, it’s kept me going through my barron evening.

HolyDayz

April 3, 2008 · 2 Comments

Hello, brothers in blog,

So, I’m on Easter holiday. And it’s been one of the best I can remember for ages. I’ve managed to switch off whilst remaining switched on, if this makes sense, and get quite a bit of early revision done. Still can’t get my head around French coursework, though, anyone want to write it for me?

Away from boring things, last Friday was Josie’s party =] It was a small gathering but one of the best I’ve ever been to, probably due to the lack of stupidly drunk Year 12’s. And abundance of cheesy music. Check Facebook for amusing photographs. I made a rather smashing cake, here it is:

Mmm, Cake

Apparently, it tasted good.

Other activities have included a fun day out in Stratford, where everyone seems to be “a tourist or an arsehole”. Thanks Tom for that one. On Monday Louise and I wore out my ‘refresh’ key as we hurridly tried to buy tickets for Leeds festival. After about an hour, we got lucky, so that’s an exiting bank holiday weekend to look forward to.

I’m also heavily addicted to The Apprentice. There’s some right tossers in it this year, the biggest of them all, de Lacy whatshisname, getting the boot last week. But how on earth did that redhead stay in last night? I think Shazia was well and truly done, there. Oh well, she won’t win. I won’t let her. Must text Sir Al about that… For me, it’ll be one of the guys who wins it this year. I think Alex looks like he’s got a good chance, but Lee won’t be far away, either, I reckon.

Talking of addictions, I too have rediscovered Peggle. I’m trying to resit spending actual money on it, so just the trial and online versions for me. Oh, and here’s a challenge for you, blogfans. Grow Cube. Lou showed me this, and I stayed up into the wee small hours trying to finish it. (Clue: The first three are: Man, Water, Shrubs). Don’t cheat, and let me know how you get on!

Love to all

Habits…

March 24, 2008 · 1 Comment

I’ve recently found that adding elastic bands to my elastic band ball is extremely relaxing.  I can’t quite explain why, but the ever expanding ball takes my wind off everything else in the world.

Am I the only one with a freakish habit?

I am, aren’t I?

Oh, and how good is Classic FM, man!

Stolen.

March 9, 2008 · 7 Comments

From Lucy. Soz, brote.

This was after a quick tidy, to prove it was actually a desk…

Desk

So, then. Here begins the “What’s on your desk” quiz.

(From bottom left to bottom right in horse-shoe kinda direction)

Payslip, pile of textbooks, letter opener, pen pot featuring coolest dino pen ever, concert programme, bug spray from D of E, Biology coursework notes, Nottingham Univeristy news, ruler, some random folded paper, anti-bacterial hand gel, £3 Ice Hockey Pc game, nail scissors, roll of gaffa tape, dice, spork, belt, christmas card, pots of useful stuff, periodic table mug full of colouring crayons (why does this just sum me up??) usb rocket launcher, christmas tree post-it notes, Oxford little guide on International Relations, tissues, iPod sock, Wombats album, Lou’s Green Day album, Radiohead album, Simian Mobile Disco album.

Away from my messy life, my exam result boat came in this week, and I’m finally on grades that’ll get me into Cardiff. Maths was a little disappointing, but to get Chemistry and French up to B, it felt good. And another full mark essay for General Studies. I want to do a degree in that. Do they do them?

To celebrate everyone getting chuffing exam results, (well done everyone) we went round to Lucy’s to get a little bit intoxicated. It was amusing. Me and Lucy watched Jerry Springer (omg, human bear baiting if ever I saw it) and cooked pizza. When Lou and Katy turned up, we’d allready drunk most of a bottle of wine in about 7 minutes. This resulted in Lucy nearlly dying. We did find a reeeeally funny little wine glass for Lou, though. after this, we got Lou drunk, did yoga, watched more Jerry Springer and took photos. They’re on Facebook, go look!

D of E next weekend. I’m quite looking forward to the boot being on the other foot, and laughing at all the kids carrying faaar too much stuff. Oh, those were the days.

Long Overdue…

February 25, 2008 · 2 Comments

I wrote a big long blog, but it was dull, uninteresting and frankly more painful to read than Old Man and The Sea. I thought “Cheer up Andy, you miserable so and so”. So here’s a joke, which is hopefully better than the dross I’d written:

There’s two fish in a tank, right? One of them says to the other “Hey, mate, do you know how to drive this thing??”

Be-dum tsssh.

Neighbours Press Launch: IN PICS

February 13, 2008 · 2 Comments

RV blast from the past, there. Here they are, then…

The man, the legend

The legend that is Harold Bishop

They loved him, even more than me.

The press all fought for a photo of yours truly…

Hardly surprising, seeing as I was wearing such a sexy top.

Check the dotted rythemz, manz.

Some geezer on a horse.

After that, sadly, the batteries ran out =(

Great day, mind! :D
